BYU is test optional for most applicants through winter 2027. If you want to submit a test score, we recommend taking the ACT or SAT no later than the spring of your junior year.

You must receive an endorsement to be able to apply. When requesting an endorsement, make sure to choose the 'Apply to BYU (including FlexGE, ELC, and Graduate Studies)' option.

We encourage all students to complete the online scholarship application, regardless of their circumstances.
The FAFSA is used to determine your eligibility for federal aid. Submit the FAFSA to be considered for all federal aid and many BYU awards.
If you decide to serve a mission, be sure to fill out the Mission Deferment Form when you receive your mission call.
Finding a place to live near campus is important! For your first two semesters as a BYU student, all single undergraduate students must live (1) in BYU On-Campus Housing, (2) in BYU Off-Campus Contracted Housing, or (3) with qualifying family members. On-campus housing options may require you to have a meal plan.
